In the small town of Bonavista, visit the Ryan Premises National Historic Site, the red and white striped Bonavista Lighthouse and the Matthew Legacy, a replica of John Cabot’s ship which voyaged across the Atlantic to find land in 1497. Following an overnight in Trinity, spend your day exploring the enchanting village, with its restored pastel coloured clapboard houses. Join the Trinity Pageant, a walking theatre that meanders through the village enticing viewers to live the history of the area.

Stop en route at Gander and take in the Aviation Museum, which features displays from the famous Gander Airport, including the time when Gander played host to 6,122 passengers with nowhere to go on September 11th 2001, in one of the more heart warming stories from that day. Once back in St John’s, enjoy a meal on your final night in Newfoundland.
