Vicksburg & Jackson

Jackson

The Blues were born in Mississippi and Jackson is the perfect place to hear it. On Historic Farish Street, you can listen to the blues at Johnny T’s Lounge and then head down the street to F. Jones Corner for your late-night entertainment. Every Monday, the Central Mississippi Blues Society hosts Blue Monday at Hal & Mal’s. This event is a celebration of the Blues and it gives the stage to up-and-coming local blues musicians in addition to the many famous musicians that drop in weekly.

Jackson has many iconic restaurants offering some of the best authentic Southern Cuisine and “Down Home Cooking” to be found anywhere. From seafood to tamales, from Southern, Cajun, Greek and Barbeque to French patisseries and quaint coffee shops, Jackson has something for everyone.
