Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton & Fraser Valley

Whistler is a vibrant, four-season resort in the Coast Mountains, 75 miles north of Vancouver. Whistler is probably best known for Whistler Blackcomb, one of North America’s top-rated ski resorts, which played a big part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. However, it’s also becoming fast known for the multitude of summer activities and outdoor adventure pursuits including rafting, mountain biking, ziplining, and heli hiking.

Ski or snowboard on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. There are a remarkable 200 marked trails with access from 37 lifts. Its 3,307 ha of diverse terrain tempts skiers of all levels, from novices to experts. Hop on a chairlift or gondola to a mountaintop. Enjoy the panoramic vistas of glacier-capped mountain ranges and the Whistler Valley.

Whistler

Outdoor enthusiasts can cycle, walk, jog or blade the Valley Trail, which gently traverses the Valley and becomes an excellent cross-country ski route during the winter season. For a unique rush, strap on a full-body harness then zooms across the forest valley between Blackcomb and Whistler on zipline cables.

Whistler is home to four championship courses designed by the greats: Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Arnold Palmer, and Les Furber. The scenery at each is spectacular, with snow-capped majestic peaks and an abundance of wildlife. In winter, board a helicopter for the giddy, gravity-defying rush of heli-skiing. In summer, try heli-sightseeing and heli-hiking. Ask to stop off on a glacier.

Squamish

Squamish is well-known for its rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, kite surfing, and more, but surprisingly it’s the hiking in Squamish that is often overlooked. Fall in love with Squamish on foot through one of its many hiking trails that will take you on trips along rivers, lakes, ancient rainforests, and vast mountainous terrain.

Squamish is quickly becoming one of BC’s top whitewater rafting destinations, and if you can manage to take your eyes off the water even for a moment you’ll soon discover why. Experience the rush on one of Squamish’s two main rivers for an authentic whitewater rafting adventure you won’t easily forget

Pemberton

Located just north of Whistler and a short 2.5-hour drive from Vancouver, Pemberton is your gateway to adventure. Pemberton offers easy access to a variety of summer/fall recreation including hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails as well as fishing adventures, golf, and more. In winter Pemberton offers a winter wonderland with ample outdoor adventure possible. You can choose Backcountry Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Mobiling, and much more.

Pemberton is home to a museum that explores the history of this stunning Valley, from its beginnings as a home to Lil’wat Nation – who settled at the foot of towering Mount Currie and at the head of Lillooet Lake – to the arrival of European settlers in the late 1880s, to its role as a farming community. The Museum is open daily from May to September.

Featuring local, fresh produce and natural meats grown right in the valley, Pemberton offers the hungry traveller a wide variety of dining choices. Several establishments offer evening musical entertainment. Pemberton also features two breweries and a distillery that don’t disappoint. In the summer, North Arm Farm hosts the Araxi Longtable Dinner – an unforgettable al fresco dining experience in the field.
