Lake Yellowstone Hotel

Offering a great position on the shore of Lake Yellowstone, in the very heart of Yellowstone National Park, this historic lodge was builtin 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its much sought after location provides the perfect base for exploring the park’s verdant forestry, abundant wildlife, geysers and hot springs.
Accommodation
Upon arrival, the hotel’s massive white columns welcome you to a time of classic, yet casual elegance. Standard guestrooms, located in Sandpiper Lodge, are traditionally furnished and offer all the amenities you might need. Premium and Superior rooms are located in the main lodge, with Superior being on the lakeside, and there are a number of suites too. There’s also a selection of Lake Cabins clustered near the hotel that offer rustic accommodation comprising two double beds and a shower room.

Renovations
Kitchen and main building closure for renovation
Due to a scheduled renovation of the Lake Yellowstone Hotel kitchen, the hotel rooms and food service (dining room and deli) will be closed from September 2nd 2024. The front desk, adjacent Sandpiper Lodge (standard rooms), guest cabins, gift shop, and tours will remain available. Also Wylie’s Canteen at Lake Lodge will be open for breakfast until Lake Yellowstone closes for the season on October 6th 2024.
Sandpiper Lodge exterior paint project – Painting will occur between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Guest Impact may include sidewalk closures, safety barriers, workers on ladders and boom lifts outside rooms, necessary entry into rooms for short periods of time and noise.
Sandpiper Lodge Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) ramp replacement – The potential impact to guests in Sandpiper Lodge and the Lake Hotel Cabins could include parking limitations, temporary closures or rerouting of foot traffic, noise, and workers in the area. The Northeast entrance will be closed at times.
Lake Hotel Kitchen Upgrade - Beginning mid-August 2024. Kitchen upgrade to include new floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, new equipment, upgraded infrastructure, new fire escape stairs and exterior paint. The contractor plans to mobilize to the site in mid-August. Guests will notice heavy equipment, job site trailers, and material staging.
