Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, situated in the picturesque Bella Coola Valley of British Columbia, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and outdoor adventure. Nestled within the expansive Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, the lodge provides guests with an unparalleled wilderness experience, set against the stunning backdrop of the Coast Mountain Range. The lodge is conveniently accessible via daily flights from Vancouver to Bella Coola, followed by a picturesque drive to the lodge. Alternatively, guests may opt for the BC ferry service from Port Hardy, situated on the north coast of Vancouver Island. The direct sailing from Port Hardy to Bella Coola takes approximately 10 hours.

Accommodation

Timber Frame Loft Chalets – The meticulously crafted, timber-framed Loft Chalets offer a perfect fusion of rustic charm and elevated comfort. Each chalet features a queen bed on the main floor and a double bed in the loft, complemented by locally sourced artwork and wood panelling. Additional amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, a small refrigerator, and a coffee maker. Guests can relax beside the crackling gas fireplace or unwind on their private deck, taking in the panoramic views of British Columbia’s majestic mountains.

Grizzly Log Chalets – A perfect hideaway for two, this cabin combines rustic exterior charm with pure interior comfort. Designed with your comfort in mind, the Grizzly Log Chalets are adorned with local artwork and feature thoughtful amenities such as spa-style bathrooms, a gas fireplace, air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, an iPod docking station, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and plush cotton robes and slippers.

Pika Duplex – These beautiful chalets offer a modern take on wilderness luxury with a Scandinavian flair. The two separate self-contained suites of the Pika Duplex make it perfect for families. Each unit is tastefully decorated with original art and wood accents and equipped with all the modern amenities to ensure an enjoyable stay, including air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, an iPod docking station, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and plush cotton robes and slippers. Bella Coola Explorer - June 27th to August 14th 2025

With the majestic Great Bear Rainforest as its backdrop, guests have access to a plethora of adventures tailored to suit every preference and skill level. From peaceful and serene river drifts along the Atnarko River, where wildlife sightings are abundant against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks, to guided interpretive nature walks that unveil the secrets of ancient cedar forests, there’s something for everyone. Three, four and five night packages are available.

August is the start of the salmon run and is an exciting time to witness grizzly bears as they emerge from the subalpine. As salmon swim upstream, bears begin to move down to the surrounding river banks in search of protein-rich enhancements to their spring diet of bulbs and berries. Through an immersive itinerary of river drifts, interpretive nature walks, and assisted climbing adventures, the team of professional wilderness and wildlife guides will offer educational insights into the behaviour of these impressive animals as well as the diversity of their habitat. Three, four and five night packages are available.

  • 4pm to 6pm – happy hour service is available
  • 7pm – three-course dinner is served

What's on the menu?

The food and beverage program is meticulously crafted to offer healthy meals, sourcing the finest ingredients from local farms, regional producers, and the Pacific coastline.

Breakfast – Enjoy an early riser buffet-style continental breakfast featuring locally made jams, jellies, marmalades, seasonal fruits, freshly baked items, juices, and coffee. Select from an à la carte hot breakfast menu featuring farm-fresh eggs from the neighbouring valley, proteins, and pancakes.

Lunch – Enjoy an à la carte lunch in the main lodge dining room or on the outdoor patio on sunny days. For full-day activities, guests can relish picnic-style lunches in the wilderness.

Dinner – Each day, the chef unveils the featured dinner menu. While there’s one set choice due to the intimate size, the lodge caters to special dietary needs and preferences with care and attention.

Snacks – Savoury and sweet treats are available anytime in the main lodge.
