Top Tips

"Most things in Memphis involve Elvis - even if you're not a fan, a visit to Sun Studios, Graceland Mansion and Elvis' customised jets, Lisa Marie & Hound Dog II, are all worth a visit."

"Spend a night listening to Blues music at the wide variety of bars on Beale Street, Memphis."

"Learn how Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is produced in Lynchburg, and enjoy a tour and sample tasting."

"Visit the Loveless Café for Nashville's famous biscuits (like our scones) and some great southern food. It's located at the northern terminus of the Natchez Trace Parkway which, in itself, is well worth a drive."

Musical Heritage

Tennessee has always been a melting pot of musical styles. From the eastern mountains came Appalachian folk songs and bluegrass, whilst country music flowered in Nashville. Gospel, blues, rockabilly and ultimately rock ’n’ roll, all stemmed from the Mississippi belt.

Nashville is a major music performance and recording centre boasting a host of fine colleges and churches. To the southwest is Memphis, home of the blues and birthplace of rock ’n’ roll, and of course, it is known as being the location of Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.

Riveting Outdoor Adventure

Tennessee is not all about music offering adventures you will never forget. Whether attending one of more than 800 festivals, visiting some of the 700 museums and historical landmarks, biking along miles and miles of trails, or hiking in one of the numerous state parks, you are sure to find unforgettable adventures and excitement in Tennessee.

On the south-eastern side of the state, perched next to the Tennessee River, is Chattanooga. This bustling city, with its train, was made famous by Glenn Miller’s song “Chattanooga Choo Choo”.

Tennessee's Food & Drink

Tennessee offers food that makes your mouth water. Worthy of awards and licking the plate clean. It’s the “I’ve-died-and-gone-to-heaven” cooking that’ll have you coming back for more over and over again. Tennessee delivers high-quality, fresh and world-renowned tastes to hungry travellers every day whether you’re in a big city or a small town. You can sample Southern staples in the state’s fine dining restaurants, mom-and-pop eateries and hidden gem cafes. Come hungry, leave satisfied.

Be on the lookout for the lively honky-tonks, modern gastropubs and small hidden gems filled with live acoustic sounds, making every night better than the one before.
